Bus tour

Covent Garden

After our first night of full sleep, my 17 D flatmates and I decided to take advantage of the Sunday morning and venture to Covent Garden, an indoor market that really bustles on the weekend with stalls and people.

At Lush, a beauty products store, where Muriel thought the blocks of soap were cheese.

We met the group at 1PM and started a whirlwind bus tour of London. Our tour guide, Britt, had been working with Prof Williams for 13 years on his past trips. She definitely knew the ins and outs of the city, and was very quick to tell us which direction to look at for the best views. We left the bus at several stops to walk around and take pictures... another gorgeous day!

For one of our bus stops, we took a stroll around the grounds and gate of the Buckingham Palace. Brit told us her secrets for the best views of the changing of the guards ceremony. We went into St. Jame's Park, where people were lying in lounge chairs and enjoying a band (who were quite fond of ABBA).

Sadly, the Queen is not home. I originally believed that if the flag was flying, she was home... but Brit set the record straight: if the Queen's own flag is up, she is home... if not, she is elsewhere.
